Through education and sport experience, Coach (Gary) Zuko rose to the elite in Basketball and Mixed Martial Arts. He grew up in the small town of Barrhead, Alberta, Canada. His family was fully immersed in owning and operating a Junior Hockey Team and a AA Baseball team. At an early age, Gary was immersed into a world of high-level athletics. On his own, he played College Volleyball, Basketball and was also offered scholarships for wrestling. Following closely in his father's footsteps, Gary started boxing and kickboxing at the age of 10. His talents and interests centred around basketball with fighting always looming on the horizon. By the time he finished his degree in Education, Gary was an undefeated fighter in wrestling, boxing and MMA but decided to follow his passion for basketball. Don Horwood, mentor coach from the University of Alberta, directly impacted Gary to become an influence in Coaching. MMA and Elite Basketball became the area of proficiency for who we now know as Coach Zuko, professional basketball coach and master trainer with the UFC. ​
